Emotions Bingo

Resources you will need:

A handful of pens

Aim: 

To gain an understanding of the group dynamics and to encourage young people to share basic feelings and emotions.

Overview:

Just like a game of traditional bingo but with pictures and statements instead of numbers. The pictures show a variety of everyday activities and associated emotions, where the young people become the bingo balls.

Instructions:

  1. Use 1 Bingo sheet per game.

  2. On the sheets are pictures and statements such as ‘someone who travelled on the bus’, ‘someone who can sing a song in a different language’ or ‘someone who cries at a sad film’, or ‘someone who has been angry this week’.

  3. Give a copy of the bingo sheet to each group member. tell them they have 3 minutes to find a different group member for each square. Encourage them to stand up and mingle with each other in order to fill in there bingo sheet. Once someone has filled their bingo sheet they shout BINGO.

  4. Check that all the answers are correct with the other group members. This may involve asking people to prove they can do whatever was on their sheet.

  5. Repeat the activity with another Bingo sheet.
